ARMY OF DOOM V0.9 **************************** 1). So why did I do it? Well, I know that there's already a bunch of Army of Darkness patches for DOOM, but (with apologies to the authors) I was disappointed with them. There really weren't enough AOD sounds to it and they had fundamental flaws in them, for example when a imp sees you it says in Ash's voice "You want some" or something like that. well, that makes it seem like you are fighting a buch of Ash's. I had about 13MB of AOD wav files, a few hours to kill during school so decided to give it a go. if you care, this file was made last March and the only other AOD wad file at the time was ASH-DOOM. this file is on Software creations and a few ftp sites but I had never gotten around to putting it here on Infant2 until now. 2). Why's it only V0.9? Well, I'm in the process (long process at that too) of making a total conversion of Army of DOOM (graphics levels the whole bit). I have some help with this and I have many ideas and working models and it should be done relatively soon. 3). How do I use it? The file enclosed is a sounds only WAD file. It uses different sounds as a shell to your regular DOOM.WAD file. It doesn't do anything to any of your original DOOM files if you follow this wasy step: at the DOS prompt type: c:\doom\doom -file AODOOM.WAD It's as easy as that. Even better would be to get a copy of DOOMLOAD and then you can use Army of DOOM with any other PWAD as long as the others do not contain any sound files. Hey you know what's cooler? It works with DOOM ][ too! just type (to save HD space c:\doom2\doom2 -file c:\doom\aodoom.wad 4). My Thanks. I would like to thank everyone who helped me with this Forest Lee Geoff Haigh Red Sprague Rob Mohns Wiley Cox Maura Beddes ID software and everyone else who has changed DOOM so far. Thank You and I hope you enjoy. 5) If you like this. Hey, this is Freeware, because I ripped off too much copyrighted material to charge money for it. All I ask, is that if you like this, UPLOAD it everywhere and please send me email at: bsheehan@gramps.clarku.edu or flash@black.clarku.edu Oh hey, since I wrote this I've really come along with the graphics path and all so If you'd like to be on a mailing list so I can keep you informed about the release, just send me mail. Also if you want to put this on a CD-ROM or anything, go ahead, just tell me because I'd really like a copy. STANDARD DISCLAIMER*************** Although I am confident that this file won't do anything to your system, I don't want to be held responsible for any damages it caused. So, if your copy of DOOM becomes corrupted or your computer vomits on you or anything, It's not my fault. Remember, It's always best to make backups.
